The Fashion of Surfing

Monday, August 22nd, 2011

The real reason for the U.S. Open of Surfing? The fashion, of course. Plenty of well-known brands are on the forefront of surf culture.

Yeah, surf fashion has been hot for years. It’s never stopped being a great trend; it’s only changed in style. But wearing cool surf wear has been a great tradition for a while now. Now, I know you are wondering to yourself about whether you want to be like the dude who says “hang ten.” But putting a little bit of the surf style into your wardrobe wouldn’t hurt you from time to time. In fact, it can be pretty great. Changing up your style is taking a bit of a risk, and we support that. ChivCulture.com is all about taking chances.

Tarantino Goes Civil in His Next Epic

Monday, August 1st, 2011

I can’t wait for Quentin Tarantino’s next movie and the groundwork is only just being laid for it. If you have seen Inglorious Bastards, Kill Bill, and of course the immortal Pulp Fiction, then you know that there is nothing quite like the unveiling of the mad genius’s next masterpiece. This time it’s titled Django Unchained.

Since Q has already done everything from hit man to bail bondsman and Nazis, he’s taking a crack at plantations. That’s right, plantations. Now, if you are looking for a biopic of a true story, or a somber account of how things really were, well, then you have come to the wrong director. He’s going to give you his unique spin.

tarantino
The movie stars heavy hitters like Jamie Foxx, Leonardo DiCaprio, Christopher Waltz, and Samuel L. Jackson. Jamie Foxx is Django and he’s looking for revenge on a plantation owner. This movie is likely to have high action and dialogue that is unlike anything you have ever heard.  No question that Djengo Unchained will be a film people are talking about well before it ever hits the theaters.

We here at ChivCulture.com respect a guy like Q. He’s an artist through and through. His vision is unique and colorful. He takes movie-watching to a whole new level and, whether you are in love with his movies or not, you know you’re getting his best. Djengo should be out sometime in the next year and when it does come out, it’s going to be a hit.
